welcome to the me&i textile school!

You have now clicked your way into the me&i world of textiles! We are textile-geeks and have an almost all-consuming interest in clothes, our customers and our business. We hope that you are already crazy about our clothes – or that you soon will be! We have designed this section to provide you with both inspiration and information.

from sketch to finished item
There is a lot that has to be done before customers can make a purchase and receive the items they order. In addition to preparing models, fabrics, prints and colours, we give careful consideration to which suppliers are going to be involved in making the different clothes. There are many links in the chain: someone will make the fabric, someone dyes it, someone will cut the cloth, someone does the sewing, someone will do the printing and someone will run tests so that we can check sizes and fits. Finally, someone checks the end product ready for the final link when the finished items are packed and ready to be shipped. Of course, there is always a risk that a mistake could be made somewhere along the line - it is a craft after all, not an automated process - but everyone takes the greatest care to make the best possible contribution and a great deal of professional pride is involved.

our factories
Our clothes are made in Portugal and Turkey at small local factories that have nothing to do with mass production. Both countries have long and proud textile traditions, and both produce clothes of the highest quality with the greatest precision.

we choose our qualities with care
We invest a lot of effort in finding the right qualities. We discuss washing methods, compositions, weights and the feeling of the fabric to come up with the best possible solution. The right composition is crucial to how a garment will behave after washing as the weight defines the fit and feel of the entire garment.

öko-tex
Öko-Tex is the leading international control body in the world for textiles when it comes to certifying and ensuring that the clothes do not contain any hazardous substances that may be harmful to our skin and health. For example, Öko-Tex labelling involves checking for colour fastness, pH value, formaldehyde, heavy metals, acrylamines, pesticides and herbicides, flame retardants, phthalates, volatile organic compounds and biocides. Our clothes (apart from jeans, canvas trousers and socks) meet the requirements for Öko-Tex class 1 (suitable for children and people with sensitive skin), the most stringent requirements of all classes. The Öko-Tex Standard 100 makes demands on the products so that you, the consumer, can feel safe and secure in your choice. The Öko-Tex label is your guarantee of this!
